Since 2017, O-Cedar has been a proud partner of Habitat for Humanity. Besides supporting this year’s Home is the Key Initiative, our team here at O-Cedar® enjoys giving back to Habitat for Humanity all year around, but especially during times of change and transition.
This past fall, many parts of the United States were severely impacted by Hurricanes Florence and Michael and although it’s hard to believe it has only been one year since Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Marie, the Habitat Hammers Back project has been able to accomplish some incredible work for individuals and families affected by these life altering storms, ultimately giving families somewhere to call home. Our team at O-Cedar® is so grateful to be able to give back to local communities nationwide by partnering with Habitat for Humanity.
Our team realizes that despite the amazing progress made in these parts of the country, the work is far from over. Over the next few years, Habitat for Humanity is committed to helping hurricane-affected families recover through advocacy, repairs and new construction. “Building a new home is a labor intensive task, and the last thing people want to worry about is a strenuous clean-up process”, Mike Esposito, Director of Marketing at O-Cedar®, said. “Our products are known for being easy-to-use and efficient so it is a natural fit for us to partner with Habitat through the use of our cleaning tools during and post build.”
In addition, Habitat for Humanity is also focused on helping families prepare for future storms and hurricanes. Through the Habitat Ready program, homeowners will have access to resources that will help them make a family preparedness plan, put together a supply kit and be ready to respond to common hazards in their community that come along with storms.
We are so honored and grateful to provide support and serve families in need and we want to thank Habitat for Humanity for this opportunity to partner as we work together towards one single goal, to create a “world where everyone has a decent place to live.”
