Our Favorite Father’s Day Gifts for Dad

Our Favorite Father’s Day Gifts for Dad

 | SeasonalInnovation

We had you covered in May for Mother’s Day, so we of course are going to have your back for Father’s Day. While Father’s Day gifts are great, most of the dads we know and love prefer a casual day with no fancy muss or fuss. Whether it’s a backyard cookout with the family or a day spent in the great outdoors, we’ve put together a list of some fun Father’s Day gift ideas you can treat dad to this year.

Get Your Grill On
If your dad is the grill master, stay close to home and host a backyard BBQ for Father’s Day. Stock up on a few of dad’s favorites like grilled hot dogs, hamburgers with ketchup and mustard, or his favorite cut of steak. Invite over family, friends and neighbors for a backyard party or keep it casual with a few VIP guests. Before you send out invitations to the entire neighborhood, make sure your backyard is ready for guests and the summertime season. Here are a few tips on how to get your backyard in tip top shape for the summer months.

Fathers on the Fairway
Book a tee time for you and Dad to hit the links for a day on the golf green. Whether you book a full 18 holes or just hit a few buckets of balls at the driving range, grab your set of clubs and get your golf game on with dad for Father’s Day. If golf isn’t your thing, offer to drive Dad around in a golf cart or play caddy! Think of it like this: You’re getting your steps in and spending the day with Dad and isn’t that what Father’s Day is all about after all. Before you head home, make sure you don’t bring any messes inside, but if you do, check out some tips on how to handle outdoor messes that find their way indoors.

Gone Fishin’
Ahoy matey! Plan an early morning fishing trip to Dad’s favorite fishing hole, then set sail for a day out on the water. Remember to pack a cooler and stock it full of Dad’s favorite beverages, snacks and sandwiches. If Dad is more of a land lover, you can still pack a picnic and head to a local park to bird watch or play a family game of Frisbee. Don’t forget to bring Fido so the whole family can spend the day together outdoors.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game
Get your bag of peanuts or cracker jacks and spend Father’s Day at the ballpark. Make an entire day of it and tailgate before the game, then head into the stadium for America’s favorite past time. Be sure to bring some sunblock, dawn your favorite team’s colors and root, root, root for the home team.

Work It Out
For all of those fathers working on their “dad bod,” book dad a class at his favorite gym or get the entire family involved and hit the trails for a family bike ride. You can also sign up for a community family fun run and then enjoy a delicious brunch afterwards. (Isn’t that the best part of running anyway?) Need some tunes to pump you up for your workout with dad and the rest of the family? Check out our June playlist, “Dads Who Rock Cleaning playlist.”

No matter how you celebrate Father’s Day, remember to thank Dad for everything he has done for you over the years and celebrate the real reason for the day. Happy Father’s Day everyone!
