What is microfiber? Why should I use microfiber when cleaning?

O-Cedar® mop heads use the magic of microfiber to remove over 99% of bacteria with just water*.

Without the use of harsh chemicals, our O-Cedar® microfiber mop refills have tiny strands that can easily pick up dust, dirt, bacteria, and spills with little fuss. Most traditional mops and cloths use fabric with strands that are too large to capture tiny germs.

Cleaning your floor with our microfiber mops and just water does not kill bacteria, it simply removes it from floor surfaces, as proven in our independent lab testing. Of course, if you prefer to use a cleaning solution, you can choose to use your favorite floor cleaner mixed with water. It is suggested you clean before you disinfect any hard surfaces.

When should I replace my O-Cedar® mop refill?

When it comes to replacing mop refills, our rule of thumb is to use a fresh mop refill after every clean. Our entire line of O-Cedar® microfiber mop refills are durable, easy to change, and designed to be machine washed & reused multiple times. Worried you’ll be caught without a spare on wash day? To avoid that, stock up on extras so you’re always ready to tackle any messes that come your way.

Tip: Have a particularly stubborn spill? Use our Deep Clean Refill with the EasyWring Spin Mop—it’s designed with a unique scrub pad that offers up to 40% more cleaning power.** With less effort, you’ll enjoy clean floors in no time.

How do I clean my hardwood floors?

Whether you need a deep clean or a quick clean, we always suggest sweeping first.

Use an indoor broom or dust mop to remove any dust, dirt and debris that has piled up on your hardwood floors.
Make sure to move the furniture and roll up any rugs first so you're not missing any areas.

Sweeping is great for surface-level dust but won't remove layers of dirt and grime that have built up over time. For a deeper clean, follow your sweeping routine with mopping.

What mop is best for quick cleaning?

When it comes to quick cleaning hardwood floors, we recommend using a double-sided microfiber mop head, such as the O-Cedar® ProMist® MAX Microfiber Spray Mop.

The double-sided mop head lets you clean your floors fast so no mess is left behind. Like most of our microfiber mops, the mop pad is reusable and machine washable. Plus, the microfiber removes 99% of bacteria with just water
— no cleaning solution required.

What mop is best for deep cleaning?

For deep cleaning hardwood floors, the EasyWring™ RinseClean™ is the mop for you. The innovative mop features a 2-tank bucket system to separate clean and dirty water for clean water every rinse. Its hands-free wringing pedal helps you control the amount of water you're putting on the floor. And like the ProMist MAX, the microfiber mop head removes 99% of bacteria with just water.

Safe to use on all hard floor surfaces, the O-Cedar® microfiber mops like the ProMist® MAX Microfiber Spray Mop and the EasyWring™ RinseClean™ can be used on hardwood, tile, vinyl, laminate, ceramic, marble or stone surfaces.

How do I clean my washing machine?

In order to get the most out of your O-Cedar® microfiber mop refills, it’s best to clean the thing that cleans them. The washing machine tends to be forgotten about when cleaning, and it’s important to keep your washer in tip-top shape for optimal performance. Soap residue in commonly used detergents builds up in the washing machine, and over time, you might notice that your mop refills just don’t seem to get as clean as they used to.

Here are our top cleaning tips for your washing machine using natural, non-toxic ingredients:
  • Fill your washer with hot water.
  • Add 4 cups of white vinegar to your washer and run a complete wash and spin cycle.
  • Then repeat the wash and spin cycle again with 1 cup of baking soda.
